MARTOCK PARISH COUNCIL seeks to appoint a Caretaker with responsibility for two buildings and cover for the Parish Hall. Flexibility is paramount for this role.Include the cleaning of two buildings in Martock - both internal and external (not grounds maintenance)

Position: Caretaker
Hours:Part-time 20 hours per week
Starting Salary:NJC SCP 1 (£17,364.00 pa pro rata)
  • MARTOCK PARISH COUNCIL seeks to appoint a Caretaker with responsibility for two buildings and cover for the Parish Hall. Flexibility is paramount for this role.
  • Cleaning of two buildings in Martock - both internal and external (not grounds maintenance)
  • Light maintenance duties - painting, adjusting doors, replacing door stops, bulbs, general repairs, jet washing
  • Health and safety responsibility for implementing health and safety policies across the site in line with MPC and legislative policy and taking action when required
  • Proactive approach and ability to work independently, planning maintenance required and speaking and working with the Clerk to plan for site needs
  • Liaising with contractors on site and develop a good relationship with users
  • Be able to react swiftly to any issues on site
  • Must have cleaning and maintenance experience and proven experience of working independently
  • Holiday and sickness cover for Parish Hall Caretaker
