SWEET COUNTRY (15) is a gritty but stunning film directed by Warwick Thornton. Winner of the special jury prize at the Venice film festival and prestigious awards from the Toronto and Adelaide Film festivals, Sweet Country is set in 1920s Australia.Film starts at 7.30pm, doors open 7pm. Sam (Hamilton Morris), a middle-aged Aboriginal man, works for a preacher (Sam Neil) in the outback of Australia's Northern Territory. When Harry, a bitter war veteran, moves into a neighbouring outpost, the preacher sends Sam and his family to help Harry (Ewen Leslie) renovate his cattle yards. But Sam's relationship with the cruel and ill-tempered Harry quickly deteriorates.
