Planning & Development Control

The Parish Council has a statutory responsibility to make recommendations on all planning applications made within the parish.

Those planning applications to be considered each month are listed on the agenda of monthly meetings and are taken as close to the start of business as follows.

All members of the public who wish to comment on an application, including the applicants themselves, are encouraged to come along and have their say. However, it should be noted that the Parish Council cannot approve or refuse an application. In Martock’s case, this is the responsibility of the SSDC Area North Planning Committee, to which the Parish Council makes a recommendation.

Copies of extant planning applications are held by the Parish Clerk and may be viewed at the Market House Information Centre.

Applications, plans and related documents, including comments received, may also be downloaded from the South Somerset District Council website.

Futher information on significant current planning applications can be found via the menu on the left.
